Day 4 - Paris

My first impression of Paris - Nice Train Station

Paris Du Nord Train Station
(Took a high-speed train from London to Paris - Not cheap!
Thankfully, we got the promo price of S$90 (45 pound) for 3 hr train ride, otherwise, it could be twice as much. )

2nd Impression of Paris - Dirty!
(Friends have told me about it.)

There are lotsa Blacks and Middle-eastern people in Paris too.
The metro system in Paris is quite old, and it seems that Parisian is less affluent compared to Londoner.

Metro Entrance (looks abit Gothic)

SACRE COEUR

Wiki: "The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur(FrenchBasilique du Sacré-Cœur, pronounced [sakʁe kœʁ]), is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in ParisFrance. A popular landmark, the basilica is located at the summit of the butteMontmartre, the highest point in the city. Sacré-Cœur is a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the defeat of France in the 1871 Franco-Prussian War and the socialist Paris Commune of 1871[1] crowning its most rebellious neighborhood, and an embodiment of conservative moral order, publicly dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was an increasingly popular vision of a loving and sympathetic Christ"

Love the idea of chilling in the green....

EIFFEL TOWER

Wiki: "The Eiffel Tower (French: La tour Eiffel, [tuʁ ɛfɛl]) is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it was initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.[1] The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.98 million people ascended it in 2011.[2] The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.[2]
The tower is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall,[2] about the same height as an 81-storey building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of the tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930. Because of the addition of the aerial atop the Eiffel Tower in 1957, it is now taller than the Chrysler Building by 5.2 metres (17 ft). Not includingbroadcast aerials, it is the second-tallest structure in France, after the Millau Viaduct."

It is really beautiful and majestic.
